Er... yeah it will!
Taking
that other game as a example...
FYROM/MAcedonia has 3 original regions but a population of 11K. So that's 3,666 people per resource.
Meanwhile USA has 51 original regions and a pop of 7.5K. That's 147 people per resource.
Fair?
All other things being equal USA automatically has a more productive economy because of the range of resources despite a smaller population (and a random selection will still get them an advantage). It would also enjoy a military advantage as it takes 51 successful battles to wipe it instead of 3.
All you are suggesting is that the larger countries get larger and therefore richer. This has a feed back effect as the smaller countries lose population to the larger ones. Soon enough you have all the PTO problems in the small countries as
the other game does.
Don't undermine the small countries here! They deserve a chance too. I am not saying that a small country cannot compete with the big ones but I would prefer a fairer game and better game play over 'realism'.
